The objectives of the Hanson Riding Club are to foster, encourage and promote the general interest, welfare and study of the horse: to ride the trails, hold horse show and other equine activities, and to present high point score awards to the leading point winners at shows and trail rides according to the scoring system and rules adopted in 1956, together with amendments and revisions as subsequently adopted.
Our shows are held at Briggs Stable in Hanover, MA and Balmy Acres in Middleboro, MA and boast a fun, family atmosphere. We compete in flat, trail, in hand and driving classes in a variety of disciplines and welcome riders from all backgrounds and levels. Year end awards are given out in each division, so make sure you are a member for your points to count!
We offer four organized trail rides, including a benefit beach ride, in addition to two versatility events each year. Our versatility events challenge horse and rider as they navigate obstacles and compete in ranch classes. All levels and disciplines are welcome!
Throughout the year, HRC organizes clinics with trainers and judges we think would be of interest to you, our members! If you have a clinician you'd like to see added to this roster, please contact us.
Our Ambassador Program lets you collect pre-determined points for just about anything you do with your horse. As long as the event is open to the public, you can accrue, and you'll be rewarded every 100 points.
Keep track of any HRC or other organized trail rides that you do with your horse and the mileage accrued for each ride. For every 250 miles you are recognized at our annual Awards Banquet!
Be sure to join us each January to celebrate year end awards and recognition for all our riders and handlers (and their families)!
HRC proudly offers scholarships each year to qualifying candidates.
