Volunteers are the backbone of our events. From setup to breakdown, we rely on volunteers to help run all of our events in some capacity alongside paid staff and board members. This helps us to keep our fees low, while giving an opportunity for our members, friends, and family to give back to the club and learn the ins and outs of running our different events. PLUS you can earn $10 in HRC bucks per hour worked for yourself or someone you know! HRC Bucks may used towards any shows or events. Contact us to confirm your HRC Bucks balance.
Volunteering at our shows includes opening and closing the in-gate or out-gate, running ribbons (a great way for younger siblings to get involved!), assisting our trail judge, and more. You can help anywhere from an hour to all day - your choice. Check in with the office and/or our announcer to get an assignment and have your hours logged for HRC Bucks.
For our versatility events we always need assistance setting up and breaking down obstacles. On the day of the event, volunteers may help with entries, assist the obstacle judge, or run ribbons, among other things. Please contact us ahead of time to learn where we need the most help.
While not needed to the same degree as our shows and versatilities, trail rides also occasionally need volunteers to help with things like setup and food. Please contact us ahead of time to learn where we could use help.
The HRC Board typically makes up our core set of volunteers owing to their knowledge and experience with each event, but they also have the opportunity to plan and design events behind the scenes. If this interests you, we welcome nominations to the board prior to voting at our annual awards banquet. Watch our Facebook page or your email for nomination details and feel free to reach out to any current board members for more info!
